Very few states honour a Massachusetts License to Carry on its own. The reach comes from holding other states' non-resident permits alongside it — five of them, all taught in the same class. Each one is applied for separately, with that state's own authority. The class is what satisfies the training requirement every one of them has.
The single widest-reaching license of the five, honoured by more states than any other permit we teach. It does most of the work in the 39-state total. Issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The obvious one for northern Massachusetts. New Hampshire allows permitless carry, so the license matters less for a trip there than for the reciprocity it unlocks elsewhere. Issued by the State Police.
Like New Hampshire, Maine allows permitless carry for eligible adults — so this permit is mostly about reciprocity value, and about being unambiguous if you spend real time there.
Matters most if you drive south regularly. Connecticut does not honour a Massachusetts LTC, so without this permit the whole state is transport-only. Issued by the CT State Police Special Licensing and Firearms Unit.
Broad recognition for a comparatively straightforward application, and it fills the mid-Atlantic gaps the New England licenses do not reach.
