Officers got there fast. One suspect, an 18-year-old, was caught after a foot chase. The second ran toward the wooded area near the town dump by Route 24, and the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing was called in to help search. WHDH later reported a second suspect, a 20-year-old, was arrested days afterward.
The victim was not hurt. One detail stuck with neighbors: a resident reported seeing a white car driven straight through his yard, which police said belonged to a suspect trying to escape before being blocked by fencing. It was that kind of scene, on a quiet street, in the middle of a workday.
