Most of the room has never touched a firearm either. The course starts at what a firearm is and how it works — no prerequisite, no assumed vocabulary, an hour of handling before you fire anything.
Never having held a firearm is the normal way to arrive. Grip and fit get real attention, the instructor is beside you on the range, and there is no tactical theatre anywhere in it.
People who arrive in pairs are visibly calmer. Book two seats in the same class — each attendee needs their own seat, their own email and their own waiver.
