Three Masked Men, One Revolver, a Marlborough Corner Store
Three masked men robbed a convenience store on West Main Street in Marlborough on a Friday night, one pointing a revolver at the cashier.

According to the Community Advocate, one of them brandished a silver revolver and pointed it at the cashier.
While the gun was on the cashier, two of the men emptied the register. The third grabbed other items from the shelves. Then all three were gone into the night.
Marlborough police released surveillance images and asked the public for help identifying the men. The cashier was not physically harmed, but spent the last minutes of an ordinary Friday shift staring at a revolver held by a stranger.

It is the road people in Marlborough drive every day — past the pizza places, the gas stations, the little stores that stay open late so the rest of us can grab what we forgot. The people behind those counters are neighbors, often family businesses. A Friday night at 10:50 p.m. is about as ordinary as time gets.

When our instructors talk about incidents like this one, the first point is always the same: an armed robbery takes seconds, and even an excellent police response takes minutes. That is not a criticism of police — it is just math, and it is why preparation and awareness matter so much for people who work alone or at night.
The second point is that preparedness in Massachusetts is a process, not a purchase. Lawful ownership here means state-approved training, licensed carry, secure storage, and understanding use-of-force law. Most people who walk into our Everett classroom are surprised by how much of the class is about avoiding trouble, not confronting it. That is by design.
