Most shooting ranges near Boston are clubs — dues, sponsors, a waiting list, and a license before you can even walk in. Ours is an indoor range in Everett that you reach through a class instead. Never held a firearm? You shoot here the same day, with an instructor behind you and no license at all.
We are a training range, not a rental range — every seat on our line is a seat in a class. That is the whole answer, and it is simpler than most ranges near Boston can give you. Three doors lead onto this line. Take whichever one describes you.

Most of the shooting ranges around Boston are clubs. You join, you pay dues, sometimes you need a member to sponsor you, and almost all of them want a license before you can shoot at all. We do none of that — you book a class, and everything you need is already in your seat.
The license class teaches you to be safe and legal. It does not teach you to draw, to move, to fix a stoppage, or to think clearly with a heart rate of 160. Concealed Carry 1 is four hours of exactly that, on this range, for people who already hold a Massachusetts license.
The draw is one motion made of four, and every one of them is a place to lose half a second or put a muzzle somewhere it should not be. You run it slowly until it is right, then you run it until it is quick.
Moving the gun between targets without over-swinging, and getting it running again when it stops. Both are dull to read about and immediately obvious on the timer.
Fine motor control goes, vision narrows, and hearing does something strange. You cannot read your way past that — you get exposed to a little of it, on a clock, with someone watching what you actually do.
