Can I carry in New Hampshire with a Massachusetts license?

New Hampshire allows permitless carry for anyone who may legally possess a firearm, and still issues non-resident licenses; we recommend getting the New Hampshire and Maine licenses anyway for travel elsewhere.

What New Hampshire honours.

  • Multi course licenses: honoured. The six licenses the 39 State Multi License Course qualifies you to apply for (MA, ME, NH, CT, PA, FL) include at least one that New Hampshire recognises — so after you apply for those licenses, you can carry here.
  • New Hampshire is one of the six licenses we teach. The class covers New Hampshire's law directly; you apply for the New Hampshire non-resident license with the state afterwards.
  • A Massachusetts LTC on its own is recognised by far fewer states than the six-license bundle. If you only hold a MA LTC, confirm New Hampshire's current position with New Hampshire's licensing authority before you travel.
  • Reciprocity changes. This page reflects the map we teach from and is reviewed regularly; the state's own published list is the final word.

Does the Multi course give me a New Hampshire license?
It teaches New Hampshire's law and qualifies you to apply for the New Hampshire non-resident license — you then apply for that license with the state yourself. Several of the other five are honoured here by reciprocity too, so most students end up covered twice over.
Do I need to live in Massachusetts to take the class?
No. Many students drive in from New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut and beyond for the six-license bundle. Non-residents apply for the MA license through the Firearms Records Bureau.
How long is the class?
Four to five hours, for both the Basic and the 39 State Multi. One visit either way, live fire included — about the same four to five hours, for five more states of law.
