He Looked Like Any Customer in a Chelsea Corner Store
A man who seemed to be asking about water walked behind the counter of a Chelsea food mart with a gun and took about $800 on a Friday afternoon.

A man walked in, and the clerk assumed he was a customer, he seemed to be asking about water. Then the man walked behind the counter, and the clerk saw the gun he was carrying.
The clerk told NBC10 Boston the man threatened him and demanded the cash in the register, helping himself to bills as the clerk handed them over. He left with about $800. The clerk was shaken but not hurt.
The robbery was captured on the store's surveillance cameras. Chelsea police said they were investigating and working with the FBI on the case. At the time of the report, the man had not been caught.

The clerk read the situation the way any of us would have, right up until the moment it turned. Most dangerous encounters don't announce themselves; they look like normal life until the last second.
