What to bring to your LTC class (and what to wear)

Short list: yourself, a photo ID, closed-toe shoes and no tank tops. Everything else is here. Here's the slightly longer version, including the questions people are too polite to ask.

• A firearm. Everything for the range is provided, and you can't lawfully own one before you're licensed anyway.
• Ammunition. Included in your seat.
• Ear or eye protection. Included. Bring your own if you prefer it, but you don't need to.
• Nerves you're embarrassed about. First-timers are the majority of every class we run.

What the four to five hours look like

Practical details

• Where: 151 Bow Street, Unit 2, Everett MA — ten minutes from Boston, free parking on site, reachable by public transport.
• Arrive: ten minutes early. The class starts on time because the range time is scheduled.
• Food: four to five hours with a short break. Eat beforehand, bring water if you like.
• Phone: fine in the classroom, away on the range.
• Language: the class is taught in English. Your prep video is recorded in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Mandarin, so you can go through the material in your own language before you arrive.
• Bringing someone: book them their own seat. Every attendee needs their own place, their own email and phone, and signs their own waiver. People who come in pairs are visibly calmer.
