Springfield Clerks Faced the Same Armed Crew 14 Times in 5 Months
Police tied one crew to 14 armed robberies at 11 Springfield-area stores between April and September 2024. Clerks were held at gunpoint over the register.

Nine of them came in a single two-week stretch just before the arrests, and investigators said the incidents were getting rougher each time.
The pattern was simple and frightening: men entered small stores with guns, demanded cash and personal items, and treated the clerks roughly. One clerk told Western Mass News a robber pointed a gun at her while demanding roughly $1,200 from the store. "I don't know what made him stop from shooting me," she said. Another clerk was hurt during one of the later robberies and survived.
In late September 2024, officers arrested six suspects, including two juveniles, and seized four guns, according to police. The adults were held for dangerousness hearings. Springfield's police superintendent said the robberies had been escalating in violence and that investigators moved quickly because of it.
