Worcester Pizza Drivers Kept Getting Robbed on Late-Night Runs
Four Worcester delivery drivers were robbed in under a month in 2024, several at gunpoint on the same street, police said. One had his car stolen.

According to Boston.com, police reported four robberies of delivery drivers in under a month. On August 12, suspects drew a gun on a driver on Lund Street and demanded cash. Three days later, another driver had his car stolen along with his money. On August 18, a driver lost cash and an iPhone.
Then, in the early morning of September 5, it happened again, back on Lund Street. Two men, at least one of them armed, approached a driver and demanded money. He handed it over and they fled. He was not hurt.
Worcester police said they could not confirm whether the same people were behind every robbery, but they were working with local pizza shops as the investigation continued. The pattern was simple and repeatable: call in an order, wait in the dark, and meet the driver at the door.

The job description is showing up alone, at night, at an address a stranger chose, often carrying cash. Every driver who was robbed that month was just doing their route.

Our instructors teach a lot of people who work alone at night, and the first conversation is never about firearms. It is about the setup: park in the light, keep the car locked, carry as little cash as possible, and if an address or a caller feels wrong, it is always okay to not get out. Awareness and avoidance solve most problems before they start.
