Then he noticed a bag that wasn't his — and an unfamiliar man standing at the bottom of his staircase, according to Boston.com.
He called police, and officers arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene. The man claimed he had keys to the place. Investigators reported finding a key in his belongings that matched one missing from an exterior lockbox used by construction crews.
No one was hurt. The man pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and was held on bail, according to the report, which noted he also had outstanding warrants in unrelated matters.
