Two masked men forced their way into a home on Arkansas Drive in Dracut on a Thursday evening, restraining one resident and injuring another who came home mid-crime.

Then the second resident came home — walking, without knowing it, into the middle of a crime in their own house. Police said the intruders attacked that resident with a firearm, and the person was hurt badly enough to need hospital treatment; the injuries were not life-threatening. The first resident was treated at the scene for lesser injuries.
The two men ran off on foot down the street toward Bouchard Avenue and disappeared into the neighborhood. In the days that followed, Dracut police canvassed the area, asked neighbors to check home cameras, and appealed to the public for tips as the investigation continued. For one quiet residential street of single-family homes, it was a Thursday night nobody there will forget.
