An Evening Shift at a Fall River Sunoco Ended in an Armed Robbery
A Fall River gas station was robbed on a summer evening in 2024. Months of police work led to an arrest on armed robbery and assault charges.

According to the Fall River Reporter, the case was investigated as an armed and masked robbery, and the charges eventually brought included assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The robber got away that night, but the case stayed open. Detectives worked it through the fall, and a Fall River police lieutenant said an arrest warrant was issued in early November for a 45-year-old suspect.
In early December, members of the department's Neighborhood Engagement and Enforcement Team located and arrested him. He pleaded not guilty at arraignment and was initially held pending a dangerousness hearing; a judge later set bail, and the case continued toward a probable cause hearing. As with any pending case, the charges are allegations until proven in court.

For the person working that counter, it was the tail end of a normal weekend shift on the South Coast. Robberies like this one do not pick dramatic settings. They pick ordinary ones.
